It’s that time of year when we are all thinking about the holidays. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanzaa, or maybe it’s someone’s birthday, you know the true meaning of wrapping a gift. So where am I going with this? You already know… the wrapping paper.
That’s right, I am dedicating this post to wrapping paper (also known as gift wrap).
Dear most beautiful wrapping paper,
Yes, i’m calling you beautiful. You come in so many colors and designs, with your unique self. Just look at you. Who can jazz up a gift and put a smile on someone’s face better than you can? Definitely not the ribbon. I do have a bone to pick with you. Every time we attempt to cut you into the perfect shape or size, somehow you end up with a crooked line, or there isn’t enough of you to cover the box, or even worse, there’s too much of you and scraps all over the living room floor. I admit, the scraps come in handy for labels on Christmas gifts. Can you do us all a favor? Be very still when we attempt to measure and cut you. Don’t wiggle, don’t try to run away, don’t do the happy dance, and please don’t call for help. It’s like getting a hair cut. It’s brutal at first, but you will grow to love your new shape.
Thank you kindly!
